Wood you believe it?
Those following the progress of The Woods will be aware of the imminent closure of pre-orders. I'd like to report that 20% of the initial run has been purchased by pre-order... it took 2 years of wargames show to achieve the same result with the first edition so I am delighted with how the following has grown. Thank you everyone who has ordered one, I look forward to hearing of your exploits in the world of Talamhlar and across the void... maybe we'll play a game together someday.

The pack are back!
During February I finally managed to get back onto the tale of four gamers challenge I've been doing with some chaps from the Oldhammer forum. To make up for falling behind over the winter I have pulled together 729 points for this month, but that's a bit of a cheat as it includes two fairly large characters!
Four teams of Jezzails, I'd take more but there's limits and stuff y'know.
Two warpfire throwers (with suitably unhealthy-looking operatives).
The army's general, a level 20 white skaven sorcerer. He's meant to have a warploque arquebus, so I will need to model that on at some point. I forgot and didn't have my army list to hand when I started chopping up Thanquol.
And the contingent assembled around the army standard, a dread banner carried by a lowly level 5 clan chieftain. I wanted to have my banners as copies of artwork from that most terrifying of book series "The Deptford Mice" by Robin Jarvis, not sure how well this one has come out though, I might be revisiting that idea.
That leaves me with a small contingent left to wrap up the 2000pt army-
20 Skavenslaves, a warpweaver and 11 Stormvermin, 4 beastmasters, 18 giant rats and two rat ogres. I must confess I have been holding off a little until my gnawlochs are cast up as I had intended them to be used as skavenslaves or stormvermin. As I want to have some more painted up in time for Salute anyway hopefully I'll manage it this month.
